Going, Going….Gone!!!!

Congratulations to Yankees’ second baseman Robinson Cano for capturing first place in the 2011 Home Run Derby in Phoenix, Arizona Monday night. Cano captured the title over Red Sox first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, which makes the win even sweeter! Cano choose his father as pitcher ending the night with 32 home runs.  Cano is the third Yankee to win the Derby, joining the ranks of Tino Martinez (1997) and Jason Giambi (2002). Way to go Cano!!!!

Sporty Spotlight: July 9, 2011

Congrats Mr. 3,000!!!!!!

Congratulations to Yankees’ Captain Derek Jeter for being the first Yankee to reach 3,000 career hits! Topping it off with a home run! How sweet it is! Jeter is the 28^th player in the MLB to reach this milestone. There were so many discussions on social networking sites before hitting this milestone in regards to whether Jeter was overrated. I guess the numbers in this situation speaks for itself. 3,000 career hits…enough said!
